His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a letter from Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi on bilateral ties and the need to enhance relations between the two countries at various levels.

In the letter, Tantawi stressed that Egypt will continue to work actively towards achieving its goals within Egypt's six-month transitional period, if legislative and presidential elections are held before the deadline.

The council assumed power in Egypt after the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, following a massive popular uprising.
