His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday received cables from senior and high ranking officials on the anniversary of the late King Hussein's birthday which falls Sunday, 14 November.

Dignitaries recalled the late King Hussein's efforts to modernise Jordan and defend Arab and Islamic issues and expressed admiration for King Abdullah's leadership in continuing Jordan's development and progress.

King Abdullah received cables from the prime minister, president of the senate, president of the Judicial Council, chairman of Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, and the directors of the General Intelligence Department, the Public Security Department and the Civil Defence Department.
