His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received several cables of congratulations from senior officials and officers on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Battle of Karameh.

On March 21, 1968, Jordanian soldiers repelled an Israeli attack on the small town in the Jordan Valley.

Several Jordanian soldiers lost their lives in the battle, while the Israeli raid was repelled with heavy losses as the Jordanian army launched a heavy artillery barrage against Israeli tanks.
