King receives cables on his 48th birthday

His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday received cables from leaders of several Arab and foreign countries on the occasion of his 48th birthday.

The congratulatory cables also came in from Prime Minister Samir Rifai, Senate President Taher Masri, chief of the Judicial Council, chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, directors of General Intelligence, Public Security, Civil Defence and Gendarmerie.

The well-wishers expressed their allegiance to the King and highlighted his efforts to build a strong and secure Jordan and to achieve continued progress and prosperity to the Kingdom.

They lauded the his efforts to boost democracy, equality, and economic developments and to unleash potentials of the Jordanian people.

They underlined his endeavors to defend the Arab nation's causes and interests as well as his key role in conveying the true values of Islam.
