His Majesty King Abdullah II received cables of good wishes on the occasion of Independence Day from leaders of several Arab, Islamic and foreign states.
King Abdullah also received similar cables from senior Jordanian officials and officers.
The cables highlighted the strong relations Jordan enjoys with each country and different nations' keenness to boost ties with Jordan in various fields.
The King received cables from the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, and from president of the Palestinian National Authority. He also received similar cables from the leaders of Britain, the Netherlands, Thailand, the Untied States, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Croatia, Greece, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Mali, Australia, and from Pope Benedict XVI and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Other cables came from the Saudi crown prince, Bahraini prime minister and Iraqi prime minister.
King Abdullah also received cables from the prime minister, senate president, and president of the judicial council, chief justice, the grand mufti, army chief and directors of the public security, general intelligence, the gendarmerie, civil defense and other senior civil and military officials.
