His Majesty King Abdullah received on Monday several cables from senior officials congratulating him on the 13th anniversary of his assumption of constitutional powers.

The officials expressed pride in the King's leadership and in his continued efforts to achieve development as well as political, economic and social reforms. They also valued efforts exerted by the King in defence of the nation as well as freedom, justice and peace.

In their cables, the senders recalled His Majesty the Late King Hussein Bin Talal, who built modern Jordan.

The King received cables from the prime minister, the Senate president, the Lower House speaker, the president of the Judicial Council, the chief justice, the Grand Mufti of Jordan, the Army chief, as well as directors of the Public Security, General Intelligence, Civil Defence, and Gendarmerie Departments, as well as the Economic Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans.
