His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed, during a meeting with the visiting Austrian Interior Minister, Dr. Ernst Strasser, his keenness to promote Jordanian-Austrian ties as well as cooperation between them in the various fields.



The King also voiced support to all steps that aim at strengthening cooperation between Jordan and Austrian in the economic, cultural and security fields.



The meeting, which was attended by the King's Advisor for Security Affairs, Director of the General Intelligence Department and Rapporteur of the State Security Council, General Saad Kheir, touched on the current situation in the region as well as efforts being exerted by Jordan to push the peace process forward.



The Austrian minister on his part, expressed appreciation for King Abdullah's directives to enhance Jordanian-Austrian ties. He also commended the level of cooperation between the two countries.



The interior minister of both countries concluded on Saturday an agreement on collaboration in handling natural disasters.
