His Majesty King Abdullah II Monday received Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa with whom he discussed the agenda of the upcoming Arab Summit agenda.

"This summit convenes in extraordinary and critical circumstances," King Abdullah said, adding that a high level participation in the summit will help ensure that it produces resolutions that serve Arab interests and mobilize joint Arab action. The King stressed that Iraq needs Arab states' support of its political process and efforts to restore security and stability to thwart those conspiring to cause sectarian violence in the country.

Mussa briefed King Abdullah on the Arab League's efforts to convene a meeting of all Iraqi political leaders in Baghdad next June with a view to achieving reconciliation among various Iraqi groups.

Also on Monday, the King met with Kuwaiti House Speaker Jassem Al Kharafi, during which he praised the strong relations between the two countries. Jordan is keen to enhance bilateral relations, especially in economic and investment fields, King Abdullah said. He added that Jordan's doors are open to Kuwaiti investments and that Jordan is enthusiastic about initiating joint ventures in various sectors.

Kuwaiti investments in Jordan in various sectors have exceeded JD3 bn and have benefited from Jordan's investment incentives legislation. His Majesty also met with Senegalese Minister of Armed Forces Becaye Diop, who conveyed to His Majesty a message from Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade on bilateral relations and Arab-African cooperation and other issues of common concern.
