Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, are scheduled to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, which takes place between 23 and 26 January under the theme “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”.

On the sidelines of the WEF, King Abdullah is expected to meet with a number of heads of state and government representatives participating at the Forum, including King Felipe VI of Spain, King Philippe of Belgium, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and a number of prime ministers of friendly states.

His Majesty is also due to participate in a conversation with Fareed Zakaria, host of Fareed Zakaria GPS on CNN, in a special session at the WEF meeting.

Around 3,000 participants from over 100 countries are attending the WEF meeting this year, including 70 heads of state and government representatives, as well as 38 directors of international organisations, and global political, economic, and media leaders.

The WEF Annual Meeting is aimed at discussing ways to bolster cooperation on a number of issues of international concern, such as security, the environment, and the global economy.

The WEF is an independent international organisation committed to improving the state of the world by bringing together the most relevant leaders from all sectors of global society to identify the best ways to address the world’s most significant challenges.

The Forum holds an annual meeting in Davos, as well as regular regional conferences, a number of which have been hosted by Jordan.
