Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Thursday met American business leaders currently on a visit to the Kingdom.
At the meeting, King Abdullah reviewed the Kingdom's development programmes in various sectors, stressing that public-private partnerships are one of the pillars to building a knowledge-based economy and boosting growth.
The King said a number of programmes are underway in the country in the transport, water and energy sectors and discussed vocational training and job creation efforts. He also explained support for start-ups in the IT sector in the Kingdom.
On Middle East peace, King Abdullah underlined the importance of the US role in working to launch serious and effective negotiations to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in accordance with the two-state solution and international resolutions, as well as the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
Earlier in the day, the American delegation visited the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, where they were briefed on its programmes and initiatives.
