King, Queen host iftar banquet for orphans

Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Sunday hosted an iftar for orphans from institutions and societies affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development at Basman Palace.

King Abdullah and the attendees performed Maghrib prayers.

The King donated financial support to 29 societies concerned with providing care for this category of children.

Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, Chief Islamic Justice and Imam of the Hashemite Court, Ahmed Helayel and other senior officials attended the iftar.

Also Sunday, a total of 24,000 orphans from 50 areas across the Kingdom were treated to iftar banquets upon the King's directives.
