Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania will head to Azerbaijan on Sunday for a two-day visit.
The King will hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on issues of mutual concern, the two leaders will witness the signing of bilateral agreements which will pave the way for the private sector in both countries to build a partnership to enhance the two countries' economies.
The deals, which address investment promotion and protection and dual taxation, are expected to bolster economic cooperation between the two countries in various sectors and encourage the private sector in both countries to enter joint ventures that would pave the way to third-party markets entry.
On the second day of his visit, King Abdullah will inaugurate the Jordanian Industrial and Commercial Exhibition in Baku, the statement said.
His Majesty is also due to open the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Economic Forum. The joint body is tasked with developing bilateral ties in the field of trade and economy with focus on promising sectors in the Kingdom such as the pharmaceutical industries, mining and others.
King Abdullah's meeting with Aliyev is the third since 2006.
