King, Queen attend Independence Day ceremony

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah on Tuesday attended a ceremony marking Independence Day at the Prime Ministry.

Upon arrival, Their Majesties were welcomed by Royal Family members, Prime Minister Samir Rifai and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Meshal Al Zaben.

In remarks at the ceremony, the prime minister outlined Jordan's accomplishments since independence, saying that under King Abdullah's reign achievements have been remarkable.

He also underlined the King's efforts to achieve a better future for Jordanians, promote freedom, and enhance democracy and the role of youth and women.
