Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Thursday attended the funeral of the King's maternal grandfather Major General Walter Gardiner who passed away in Amman at dawn Wednesday.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, Her Royal Highness Princess Muna and other members of the Royal family were also present at the ceremony held in honour of the late Gardiner.
King Abdullah and Their Royal Highnesses the Princes accepted condolences at Raghadan Palace from other Royal family members, dignitaries and senior officials and officers.
Queen Rania, Princess Muna and other women of the Royal family also accepted condolences at Zahran Palace from wives of senior officials and officers, women ministers and Parliament members and wives of diplomats.
A book of condolences will be available at the Royal Court for individuals who wish to record their sympathies, starting Friday through Tuesday, the end of the mourning period, from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
The Royal Court announced Wednesday that it will observe a week-long mourning period.
