King, Queen arrive in Portugal

Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah arrived in Lisbon on Monday on an official visit to Portugal after concluding a working visit to Morocco.

During the two-day visit, King Abdullah will meet the Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva, Prime Minister Jose Socrates and senior officials to discuss mechanisms to boost bilateral relations in the political, economic and trade fields. Talks will also cover issues of mutual concern, chief among which is the Middle East peace process.

The King will also meet with a group of Portuguese businesspeople and private sector representatives, who will take part in the Jordanian business forum that coincides with the King's visit.

The King is accompanied by Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, the King's Advisor Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Trade and Industry Minister Amer Hadidi and Jordan's non-resident ambassador to Portugal Dina Kawar.
