King, Queen arrive in London

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah arrived in the United Kingdom today on a working visit, during which the King will deliver a speech at the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the globally esteemed Oxford University.

The speech will address the challenges facing the Middle East and means to enhance regional stability and peace. It will also focus on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the core conflict in the region, as well as the important role that the UK and the European Union can play in supporting peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis.

King Abdullah II will also pay a visit to the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, which encourages the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world.

During his visit to the UK, the King will also hold talks with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and other senior British officials to discuss current developments in the Middle East, particularly on the Palestinian front and the situation in Iraq, and means to enhance bilateral relations.
