His Majesty King Abdullah and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Thursday stressed the need to step up Arab and international efforts to stop escalation in Gaza and its surroundings.

His Majesty and the Qatar emir, in a phone call, called for protecting civilians and respecting international humanitarian law.

The King reiterated that there can be no peace nor stability without a just solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution and fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The importance of maintaining coordination on issues of mutual concern was also stressed during the call.
