His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday expressed pride in the Kingdom’s security agencies and appreciation for their efforts in safeguarding the country's security, stability and achievements.
During a meeting with the chairman of the joint chiefs-of-staff and the directors of the public security, gendarmerie, civil defence and general intelligence departments, King Abdullah praised the self-restraint, responsibility and patience shown by security personnel during the protests that have been taking place across the country for more than a year.
“I am pleased to extend my sincerest greetings and appreciation to all my brothers in arms who spend sleepless nights defending the country's security and stability," the King said in a letter he handed to the heads of security agencies.
His Majesty said the high sense of responsibility and professionalism shown by the security personnel in handling public rallies throughout the Kingdom will go down in history as exemplary. The professionalism of security personnel has made Jordan an exceptional model of unity, security and commitment in a turbulent region that is witnessing unprecedented violence and very high levels of tension.
“We and all Jordanians will not forget that you give priority to your duties and leave your families every Friday to safeguard the country's security and the safety of its people,” the King said in the letter, expressing appreciation and gratitude to the security agencies' for their respect for the law and equal treatment of all citizens.
