His Majesty King Abdullah postponed his meeting with US President George Bush which was schedualed for Wednesday at the White House.

An official source at the Hashemite Royal Court announced that the meeting was delayed to the first week of May until the US stand from the peace process and the final status in the Palestinian lands is cleared out especially in light of the latest statements by US officials.

Meanwhile, Foreign minister Marwan Muasher will stay in Washington to continue talks with US officials and prepare for the King's coming visit.

The source announced that King Abdullah had sent a letter to president Bush on April 8th in which he affirmed Jordan's stand related to the means of ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The letter affirmed that a withdrawal from Gaza should be part of the roadmap and not an alternative for it. The letter also expressed Jordan's hopes for a joint plan with the international society that provides support for Palestinians in building their institutions.
