King phones Chirac, stresses need to revive peace talks

His Majesty King Abdullah II and French President Jacques Chirac on Tuesday stressed the urgency of bringing Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table in order to advance comprehensive Middle East peace. In a phone call, the two leaders discussed King Abdullah's diplomatic efforts in the Arab world and international community to revive the Middle East process.

King Abdullah told Chirac that the EU had an important role to play in re-activating the peace process. The French President expressed appreciation and support for King Abdullah's efforts to break the stalemate and return the parties to negotiations that will realize the region's aspiration to live in peace and security.
