King phones Bush and discusses peace in the region

His Majesty King Abdullah II and U.S. President George Bush Wednesday discussed Middle East peace issues over the phone.



King Abdullah underlined the importance for the U.S. Administration to pursue its efforts aimed to realize comprehensive and just peace in the region and to establish an independent Palestinian state that secures the Palestinian people's legitimate rights.



The King also stressed the need to continue serious efforts to put an end the mounting violence in Iraq and help the Iraqi people chart their future.



For his part, President Bush affirmed his commitment to work for fulfilling his vision for peace in the region.
