His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday called on Palestinian and Israeli leaders to implement the Middle East Roadmap as the only guarantee for an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, after their peace summit in Egypt.

“Full commitment to implement the roadmap is the only guarantee to end the Palestinian-Israeli struggle and to establish a Palestinian state alongside Israel,” King Abdullah said.

The King made the remarks in separate telephone calls with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who held a summit in Egypt on Tuesday.

“The Sharm El Sheikh summit represents a new beginning to push forward towards a just, comprehensive and lasting peace and a secure future for all the peoples in the region,” King Abdullah told Abbas and Sharon.
