King Patronizes the Opening of the Third National Economic Meeting

His Majesty king Abdullah II patronized in Aqaba on Saturday the opening of the Third National Economic Meeting entitled "Competitiveness Strategies Through Research and Development". The meeting comes in line with the King's directives to present the most important economic issues with a view to reach a sustainable economic and social development and activate the concept of genuine and constructive partnership between the public and private sectors.

It also comes as an implementation of His Majesty's vision to support the economic and social development process in Jordan, follow up the activities of the Consultative Economic Council and evaluate the stages of implementing recommendations of the 2nd national economic meeting.

Director of the Economic and Development Department at the Royal Court Khaled Al Wazani briefed His Majesty and the participants on the outcome of the 2nd national economic meeting, noting that the investment committee presented a number of recommendations that included the financial and structural dimensions to improve the investment structure in Jordan and find a sustainable frame for the investment climate. "The human resources development committee has put a number of recommendations that are of importance to the forum of education in future Jordan which will be dealt with in the third meeting," he said Wazani affirmed that the King Abdullah Creativity Prize enhanced the concept of the role of the public sector in serving the Jordanian society with all its sectors in general and the investment community in particular through spreading awareness about the concepts of comprehensive quality and distinguished performance.

Deliberations of the 2nd day of the 3rd national economic meeting which will be attended by His Majesty, will be concluded tomorrow with the issuance of a final statement and recommendations that would put a framework for the issues that have been discussed in the meeting.
