King participates in Arbor Day celebration

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Sunday participated in the Ministry of Agriculture celebration of Arbor Day at the Wasfi Tal Forest in Balqa Governorate.

During the ceremony, the King and Queen planted several trees at the forest and listened to a briefing by Agriculture Minister Tayseer Smadi on the ministry's plans to protect the Kingdom's forests and increase its green cover.

Also, as part of the voluntary action programs to protect and increase the green cover in the Kingdom, more than 150 students and scouts joined in the tree planting in the forest.

Members of Wasfi Al-Tal's family took part in the ceremony.
