His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Monday instructed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben to raise the housing loan granted to non-commissioned officers from JD7,500 to JD10,000.

King Abdullah also instructed Zaben to increase the number of housing loan beneficiaries to 350 army personnel per month in recognition of their efforts.

The increase in housing loans and the number of beneficiaries will go into effect by January 1, 2014.

His Majesty also issued directives that 400 housing units be allocated to army personnel of various ranks.

In line with the King’s directives, the army’s general command will provide officers eligible for the housing loans with apartments at prices 30 per cent lower than the actual cost.
