His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday ordered an urgent aid convoy of food and humanitarian assistance to be sent to the West Bank and Gaza strip tomorrow.

It will be the fourth convoy of humanitarian assistance to be sent to the Palestinians in the past two months.

Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization Dr. Abdul Salam Abbadi said the aid convoy is part of a series of aid packages that the Kingdom has extended to the Palestinians to alleviate a shortage of basic consumer goods.

The JHCO has sent three relief aid convoys consisting of medical equipment, food, and humanitarian assistance in the past two months. In late April, a shipment of medical aid was delivered to Al Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Abaddi said this convoy contains twenty-five trucks laden with 400 tons of various foodstuffs, and will depart for the Palestinian territories on Tuesday.

Fifteen trucks will head for the Gaza strip, while the remaining ten will proceed to the West Bank.
