His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday instructed the government to accelerate efforts to resolve water problems in the town of Al Taibeh in southern Mazaar.
The King also ordered that residents of the area, located in Karak Governorate, be provided with water until a network that supplies the area with water is completed. He also ordered the construction of a water reservoir in the area.
King Abdullah directed officials at the Royal Court to implement a series of infrastructure plans and other projects to enhance the living conditions of Al Taibeh residents, who staged a sit-in recently in front of the Prime Ministry to urge the government to improve the level of services.
Projects the King ordered include the construction of a civil defence centre, a multipurpose hall, a kindergarten and a headquarters for Al Amal Foundation for Women in the area, which is to be provided with sewing machines.
A committee is currently looking into implementing several projects in the area and taking measures to meet the demands of the residents.
