His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday issued directives to put the capabilities of the Civil Defence Department at the disposal of the Lebanese government to help it deal with forest fires that broke out earlier in the day.

The aid came in response to an appeal for help made by Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora, who called the King on Tuesday.

Upon Royal directives, Jordanian helicopters will fly to this Arab country to assist in putting out the blazes.
