Their Majesties King Abdullah II, and Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated on Monday premises of the King Hussein Club which was established in 1958 and renovated recently.
His Majesty accepted the honorary presidency of the club where the politicians, intellectuals and educated of Jordan have been meeting for long years.
The club, which was linked to the name of His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal, is one of the oldest clubs in the Arab region. It played an important role in enhancing the cultural march as well as social ties.
Their Majesties toured facilities of the club which still maintains its historical type that fully conforms with the surrounding area in Jabal Amman.
King Abdullah visited the club last year and ordered a relevant renovation of the club to be a witness for the cultural and social development in Jordan.
The King and the Queen also watched a TV show on stages of the club's establishment and the facilities that have been added to the it.
President of the club and President of the Senate, Zeid Rifai said that the Club, which was named after the great leader His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal, has a great history and passed through various stages since its establishment in 1958.
In a statement to Jordan News Agency, Rifai said that the club which was a meeting place for Jordanians from the public and private sector, is an important cultural place on the level of the region.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ministers and high ranking officials.
