His Majesty King Abdullah will on Oct. 26 open Parliament’s second ordinary session with a Speech from the Throne outlining the reform process.
Under the Constitution, the King summons Parliament to convene its ordinary session on October 1. However, he is entitled to postpone the session by Royal Decree for a period not exceeding two months. During the six-month ordinary session, parliamentarians are expected to examine key political legislation drafts submitted by the government.
