His Majesty King Abdullah II and German President Horst Kohler will open Faces of the Orient Exhibition in Berlin on Oct. 7th.



The exhibition, which will show 700 artifacts, will last until the beginning of next year to move to the city of Bonn in the spring 2005.



German ambassador to Amman Klaus Berkhart held a press conference on Thursday in which he said that this occasion is an opportunity for the Europeans to look into the ancient cultures through the Jordanian heritage. '' Jordan and the Middle
East are amongst the ancient civilizations in the World,'' the ambassador added.



A number of specialized lectures and seminars will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition with a view to familiarize German tourists with the Jordanian culture.
