King, Obama discuss Mideast

His Majesty King Abdullah received a phone call from US President Barack Obama on Friday. The two leaders discussed ongoing efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.

In a telephone call they exchanged views on steps needed to achieve tangible progress with regard to peace negotiations, noting that all concerned parties should support peace between Palestinians and Israelis as the basis for regional stability.

King Abdullah commended the commitment the US president and his administration have shown in their efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
