His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday discussed with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak the latest efforts to achieve a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

During the phone call, the two leaders exchanged views on the steps that should be taken to overcome obstacles hindering the achievement of peace in the region, and the outcome of efforts to relaunch serious Palestinian-Israeli negotiations to implement the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The conversation also covered other issues of mutual concern.
