His Majesty King Abdullah and Moroccan King Mohammad VI underlined the need on Sunday to settle inter-Arab differences, an effort, they said, which demands the “highest degree of coordination” between Arab countries to address the challenges at hand.
During the meeting in Fez, the two leaders reviewed regional developments and means to develop a united Arab position to deal with them, highlighting the need to realise Arab solidarity.
Talks between King Abdullah and the Moroccan monarch focused on efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israel conflict, which they said is the core conflict in the region, in accordance with the two-state solution, the formula supported by the Arab states and the international community as the foundation for security and stability in the Middle East.
The two leaders also urged Palestinian national reconciliation, voicing their support for efforts in this regard. They stressed that such concord is an important step in the Palestinians' pursuit of an independent state.
Discussions also covered means to preserve Islamic holy places in Jerusalem and protect them from attempts at Judaisation.
On bilateral ties, the two leaders underscored their keenness to enhance relations in the political and economic fields.
