His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reviewed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel the latest developments in the Middle East.

During a telephone conversation, the two leaders discussed efforts to overcome obstacles to re-launching serious and effective negotiations that can end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and within a comprehensive regional context.

King Abdullah underlined the important role that Germany plays as part of the European Union and a key international player in working with all parties to end the state of tension and violence and support peace efforts. Moreover, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations, underlining their commitment to develop them in all spheres.
