His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday held a series of meetings with world leaders and officials with whom he discussed developments in the Middle East as well as means to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
On the sidelines of the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, King Abdullah discussed with President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernandez means to encourage economic cooperation between the two countries as well as efforts to achieve comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
King Abdullah also met with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou. At the meeting, the King stressed the importance of the international community's collective efforts to guarantee progress in direct Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations.
The King also met separately with Bahrain's Crown Prince Sheikh Salman Ben Hamad Al Khalifa and Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al Feisal, with whom he discussed means to advance Jordan's relations with their countries as well as the latest peace developments.
He also received Klaus Schwab, the executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, to review future cooperation between Jordan and the forum.
King Abdullah also briefed Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers on Jordan's efforts to advance the information and communications technology sector and examined prospects for cooperation with the company.
King Abdullah is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly session on Thursday.
