King meets U.S. National Security Advisor

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday discussed with U.S. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice the latest developments in Palestinian and Iraqi scenes.



During the Meeting, which was attended by the King's Advisor for National Security/ Director General of Intelligence Department Gen. Saed Kheir, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State William Burns and U.S. Ambassador to Amman, King Abdullah affirmed the importance of the U.S. role in pushing the peace process and breaking the acute violence in the Middle East, throughout immediate implementation of the Roadmap.



Rice thanked His Majesty for Jordan's positive role vis-à-vis regional issues particularly in reviving the peace process.



His Majesty also underlined the necessity to support Iraqi people at this stage to enable them to run their own affairs and charter their future. This would help restore stability and security in the country and build a new democratic Iraq, the King noted.
