King Meets US Delegation and Mayor of London City

His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed on Wednesday that nations' belief in the reform process is the base to implement reforms in the Middle East and achieve the economic and social development.



During receiving a delegation representing US Congress assistants at the Royal Court, the King said that Jordan believes in modernization, development and reforms. The King pointed that the reform process in Jordan has started early 90s and it was the outcome of discussions by the various Jordanian parties.



During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and the US ambassador to Jordan, the King affirmed that the Palestinian issue will remain our core issue, pointing that leaving this issue unsettled will increase violence and tension in the region.



On the bilateral ties, His Majesty expressed Jordan's thanks for the Congress and US administration over the US assistance to Jordan which contribute to supporting Jordan's efforts in the modernization process as well as in supporting the economic transformation program.



On the other hand, the King met with Lord Mayor of London City, Alderman Robert Finch, and his wife, in the presence of Minister of the Royal Court, Mayor of Amman and the British ambassador to Jordan.



The King discussed with the British visitors scopes of cooperation between Jordan and Britain.
