His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday discussed with US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffery Feltman the latest developments in the Middle East and efforts geared towards realising peace.

King Abdullah underlined the need for the US and the international community to increase their efforts to overcome obstacles hindering peace negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis on the basis of a two-state solution that leads to an independent Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders.

Talks also covered  bilateral ties and means to boost them.

Director His Majesty's Office Imad Fakhoury and U.S. Ambassador to Jordan Stuart E. Jones attended the meeting.
