King Meets Turkish Foreign Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday discussed with visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu bilateral ties, regional developments and efforts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict according to international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

King Abdullah stressed that Israel should stop all unilateral measures, including settlement expansion, which violates international law and jeopardises opportunities to achieve peace in the region.

The King also stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to relaunch serious peace negotiations that can guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

During the meeting, King Abdullah also expressed satisfaction over the level of relations between Jordan and Turkey, particularly in the field of economy and trade.

For his part, the top Turkish diplomat conveyed regards of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to the King and his desire to visit the Kingdom soon.

He also briefed the King on his country's efforts to ease tensions between Iraq and Syria that arose after a series of bombings in Baghdad.
