King meets tribal leaders

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with leaders of the Bani Hassan tribes in the Rehab area of Mafraq Governorate.

At the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, discussions covered issues of concern to citizens, especially in areas where the Bani Hassan tribes reside.

Sheikh Oqla Akhorsheida, who delivered an address on behalf of the Bani Hassan tribes, welcomed His Majesty and highlighted the Kingdom's accomplishments.

He also highlighted the Hashemites' support for pan-Arab causes, especially the Palestinian issue, and their concern for Jerusalem and holy sites in the city.

Poet Issa Khazaleh read a poem at Monday's meeting in which he expressed his congratulations over naming Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.

Talks continued over a lunch banquet, attended by several officials.
