Jordan and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday asserted their joint commitment to developing and strengthening cooperation in all spheres, in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and Arab and Islamic causes.

During a meeting between His Majesty King Abdullah and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, the two sides reviewed means to boost ongoing cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed regional developments, including efforts to achieve Middle East peace, on the basis of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Talks between King Abdullah and Prince Saud, who conveyed greetings from Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to His Majesty, also addressed the Syrian crisis and its repercussions.

In this regard, the King asserted the importance of arriving at a political solution for the crisis that would end the suffering of the neighbouring Syrian people.

Last month, His Majesty held talks in Jeddah with the Saudi king and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, during which discussions focused on bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East.

Royal court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury attended the meeting.
