King meets representatives of Arab and Jewish organizations

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met with representatives of Arab American organizations and briefed them on outcomes of his meeting with US President Barack Obama, developments in the Middle East and efforts to achieve peace in the region.

The King stressed the important role of Arab organisations in explaining Arab views on peace between the Palestinians and Israelis as well as in supporting the Jordanian and Arab stand, based on a two-state solution that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state and achieves peace in the region.

The King also outlined Jordan’s efforts to overcome obstacles to peace, especially the recent meetings between Palestinian and Israeli negotiators in Amman.

His Majesty also reviewed Jordan’s efforts to achieve reforms and promote democracy, noting steps taken in this regard.

Representatives of the organisations valued the King’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, hailing Amman’s success in bringing Israelis and Palestinians back to the negotiating table.

In a meeting with representatives of Jewish-American organisations, the King stressed that the two- state solution, which leads to the establishment of a viable Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil and a secure Israeli state, is the ideal solution to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

His Majesty affirmed Jordan’s keenness to achieve just peace in the region, noting the recent meetings between Palestinian and Israeli negotiators in Amman.

The King also underlined the important role of Jewish organisations in supporting efforts to bring Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table to end conflict in the region.

On Iran, the King affirmed the importance of dialogue in dealing with the Iranian nuclear file.

Representatives of the organisations hailed the King’s  peace efforts, praising Jordan’s initiative to bring the Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table.
