King meets Qatari foreign minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid Bin Mohammad Al Attiyah who conveyed to King Abdullah the greetings of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

The King stressed his keenness to forge closer ties with Qatar and build on these across various fields in the interest of both peoples.

His Majesty expressed confidence that Qatar, under the leadership of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad, will continue its development and modernisation march to realise the aspirations of the Qatari people for even more progress and prosperity.

Talks during the meeting also covered the latest developments in the region, mainly the Syrian crisis, peace efforts as well as other issues of common concern.

The Qatari minister highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Qatar, adding that his country was keen to forge even closer ties with Jordan in all fields. He said Qatar was interested in maintaining coordination and consultations with Jordan on the developments in the region.

The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh as well as the Qatari Ambassador to Jordan Zayed bin Said al-Khayareen.
