His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday said Jordanians should work as one team and embark on a dialogue that would deliver favourable results for the reform process.
King Abdullah urged the concerned parties to join ranks in efforts to push forward the reforms, building on past achievements and with a view to a brighter future for all citizens.
During a meeting with presidents of professional associations, King Abdullah said the path is visible ahead of us, adding that it is time Jordan moved further in its reform process so as to serve the country and meet citizens' aspirations.
King Abdullah said all national issues should be addressed in full transparency and openness through a fact-based dialogue and reiterated his directives to the government to communicate with citizens and all segments of society.
He underlined the need to combat corruption by enforcing the law indiscriminately on all and called for the harshest punishment for those found guilty of any type of corruption.
The King said the government is required to start a comprehensive national dialogue of all laws governing civil and political work, particularly the Elections Law, and according to the mechanism outlined in the Letter of Designation.
The meeting, which included extensive discussions on public issues concerning the country, is part of a series of meetings the King is holding with different political and social activists.
Abdul Hadi Falahat, president of the Jordan Agricultural Engineers Association and the Professional Associations Council, commended the frankness and openness that prevailed during the meeting.
