His Majesty King Abdullah met on Thursday with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman on the sidelines of the 65th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
King Abdullah and Sleiman discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to achieve Middle East peace, regain Arab rights and ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The two leaders also discussed how to deal with several regional and international issues.
Stressing the strong Jordanian-Lebanese relations, the two leaders also examined steps needed to activate economic cooperation.
King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's support for Lebanon's efforts to foster its security and stability, the statement added.
