His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with participants taking part in a leadership programme that started yesterday at the Dead Sea.

The programme, “Leading for The Future: The Middle East in a Changing World”, seeks to enhance leadership skills of private and public sector representatives from different Arab countries and empower them to deal with key economic issues.

During the meeting, King Abdullah expressed his support for such programmes. He also underlined the role of the young participants in effecting change and assisting in the process of development and modernisation, noting that such skills will reflect positively on their communities.

Professor of International Trade and Investment in the Kennedy School at Harvard University Robert Lawrence expressed his appreciation to Jordan for hosting the program.

He noted that the programme deals with vital topics to help regional leaders in addressing key economic issues.

The programme, organised by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development in association with Harvard's Kennedy School, covers issues ranging from globalisation and economic performance to economic policy making, decentralisation and innovation, leading in difficult times and the competitiveness of Arab economies.
