King Meets Kolbe

His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Thursday, Chairman of the Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee at the US Congress Jim Kolbe and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, King Abdullah outlined results of His recent visit to Washington where he held talks with US President George Bush as well as with other US officials on economic relations between the two countries and the US assistance to Jordan to achieve developmental projects.

The two sides also discussed the regional situation, particularly in Palestine and Iraq.

On his part, the US official clarified that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, enjoys the support of the US Congress, noting to the comprehensive development achieved in Jordan despite the hard regional circumstances.

Kolbe also expressed admiration over the progress achieved in the Jordanian economy, pointing to Jordan's efforts to develop its educational, environmental, investment, and health levels. He also noted that Jordan is deemed a model for the developing countries in the fields of reform and development.
