His Majesty King Abdullah met late Monday in New York with the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander to discuss the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, mainly the issue of refugees as well as the need for an international support to Jordan to enable it to shoulder the burden of hosting Syrian refugees.

King Abdullah and the Dutch monarch stressed the need to boost international cooperation to counter terrorism and extremism.

Talks during the meeting, which was attended by the Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, also focused on means to forge closer economic cooperation between the two countries.
