King meets Islamic conference participants

Participants at the International Islamic Conference on Monday voiced appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah II's calling for Islamic scholars and thinkers to convene in Amman to discuss the main topics and issues of concern to Islam and Muslims around the world.



Heads of participating delegations, meeting with His Majesty, described King Abdullah's address to the conference as an important message that asserts Islam's tolerance, justice and moderation.



During the meeting, His Majesty expressed his gratitude for the Islamic scholars' efforts in clarifying the message of Islam and the spreading of its true values. They also concurred with His Majesty on the importance of unifying the positions of the adherents to the schools of Islamic thought on the contemporary challenges facing Islam.
